It features high fidelity wideband audio, integrated Ethernet switch, headset port, and it is SIP supportive. The Cisco 7942 provides a 2 x Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX Network Ports with Class 3 PoE network features, four interactive soft keys , 2 programmable backlit line/feature buttons , 5 inches LCD display - monochrome , Volume Control, Ringer Control, Menu Operation and digital duplex Speakerphone which intended to satisfy the needs of needs of transaction-type users with significant phone traffic.

This is an IP phone and can have firmware loaded to make it operate directly with an IP provider. The firmware upgrade process can be complex and we recommend it is not done unless you have previous experience. If you are looking for an IP phone that will work directly with an IP provider then we recommend Yealink, Polycom and Grandstream telephones.
